Self-Care Tips for your Zodiac Sign

Virgo is the sign of health, wellness, and daily support. While the Sun is in Virgo, our focus is put upon learning how to serve ourselves and others better by focusing on our own self-care.

I’m sure the concept of putting your own mask on before others in the event of an airplane crash is a phrase that has become way overdone and cliche at this point, but the truth in this statement has never been more relevant. In a society set on charging ahead with a go go go mentality, we need to remember the things that make it possible for us to “go” in the first place.

As the Sun sashays through the sign of the meticulous, detail-oriented Virgo, we are reminded to work on creating healthy routines that fuel us to do all of the things we yearn to do. The way we go about our day and treat ourselves, our bodies and our surroundings often says a lot about our sanity levels. How can we be of service to others without giving ourselves the things we need to thrive?

♈️ ARIES / ARIES MOON
(March 21 – April 19)

High energy Aries is never at a loss for fresh new ideas! That is why the best medicine for Aries’ self-care needs is most definitely exercise, best done outdoors under the sun, where they can let their energy out in a healthy way. This can mean gardening, running, biking, skating, or any type of movement that gives you an adrenaline rush. It may sound super simple, but if you’re feeling a bit sad or upset, usually all you really need to do is get your body moving on a daily basis to get back to your fiery self again!

(April 20 – May 20)

Taurus is a very hard worker when they are going after something they want. The best self-care for you usually involves a good dose of relaxation, especially of the sensual nature. This can mean enjoying a really good, rich meal, relaxing in front of a movie or show, getting a massage, taking a long aromatherapeutic bath, or taking a walk to a sweet-smelling rose garden. Allow yourself the time to take things slow or just to do nothing at all & you will be feeling at your best again in no time!

(May 21 – June 20)

Geminis looove to multitask and may have a very hard time relaxing because sitting still can make their minds very restless. For you, a good recharge may mean figuring out a puzzle, going out to take pictures around town, hanging out with like-minded friends (especially Libra & Aquarius) or chatting with them on the phone while you clean your house & do laundry. Geminis also need a lot of fresh air, so open a window, or sit yourself down outside for some deep breathing exercises.

(June 21 – July 22)

Cancer is the domestic goddess of the zodiac, so it’s no wonder why I would recommend doing your housekeeping as a way to refresh your vibe. You may also get a great deal of pleasure from working on creative projects or putting together an warm meal to bring your family together around the table. However, one of the best ways for you to shake off bad energy is to go for a swim in a lake or community pool. You are a water sign after all!

(July 23 – August 22)

As a bold & fiery Leo, your type of self-care may not be for everyone. You actually thrive on work or exercise that is physically demanding and active. A good way to revive your soul is to engage in some CrossFit, bodybuilding, weight lifting, or something that really gets your heart pumping, especially if it can be done outdoors under the bright sun. You can get also get yourself feeling fired up when you’re working on promoting a creative project you feel good about!

(August 23 – September 22)

As a Virgo yourself, you will especially thrive in a neat and clean environment, so your self-care routine may involve quite a bit of tidying up or organizing. Gathering old things and taking them to a thrift store or donation center can help you to free up space in your mind. If that sounds too stressful for your meticulous nature, a meditative walk outdoors somewhere calming and uncrowded, especially among the trees, can help you feel refreshed. Herbal remedies can also have a wonderful effect on your mood!

(September 23 – October 22)

Libras love to be around their friends, but sometimes all of that people pleasing can take a toll on your body, mind & spirit. As an Air Sign, getting out alone to breathe in some fresh air can have a very nice detoxing effect on your system. You also thrive in beautiful surroundings, so tidying up and decorating or going shopping for some fresh flowers can really lighten up both your mood and your home. If you are craving to be around people, a low key social engagement or party put on by someone else can elevate your mind as well.

(October 23 – November 21)

As a deep thinker and someone who tends to feel their emotions quite strongly, constructive forms of emotional release can be the best medicine for your watery sign. Drama, art, and therapeutic talks can soothe your soul like nothing else, whether you are engaging in your own project or witnessing another person’s creative self-expression. Water, of course, is also amazing for releasing raw emotions. A walk by the ocean, lake, or river or simply a long candle lit bath can be a wonderful way to help yourself get back into the flow with life feeling recharged.

 

♐️ SAGITTARIUS / SAGITTARIUS MOON
(November 22 – December 21)

Unlike many other signs, Sagittarius mainly prefers to be on the move. You may have trouble relaxing or sitting in one place for too long, as your mind longs to wander and experience new things. Sports & travel can be especially helpful for you and may actually be one of the only times you can truly feel relaxed! If you can’t do that, time spent outdoors playing with a canine companion can do the trick, as can sitting with an intriguing book or writing in a journal as you engage in some creative visualization of what your ideal life would look & feel like.

 

♑️ CAPRICORN / CAPRICORN MOON
(December 22 – January 19)

Playfulness is very important for Capricorn to cultivate, as they can be quite serious and a little too self-composed at times. As an Earth sign, you also need to spend ample time outdoors, especially around trees, whether that means going for a walk or allowing yourself to get down & dirty picking weeds in your garden. And if all else fails, you are one of those signs who actually gets off on organization and checking things off your to do list! If you’re too upset or overwhelmed to be productive, start working on the easy things first to give yourself a sense of accomplishment to be able to move on to the bigger things you have planned for yourself.

 

♒️ AQUARIUS / AQUARIUS MOON
(January 20 – February 18)

Although Aquarius tends to favor some alone time to get lost in their unique interests, getting together with like-minded souls to help out, volunteer, or simply hang out can be a great way to press the reset button on your mood and get re-inspired. As an Air sign, you also need a good dose of fresh air every day – even better if you can get out to a mountainside somewhere to soak in the scenery and fill your lungs with their electric energy. Hatha yoga can also bring a soulful release of any pent up emotions that you have been ignoring!

(February 19 – March 20)

As a sign who mostly prefers to live in their own dream world, you can sometimes take on too much stagnant energy if you spend too much time dreaming and not enough time doing. While a solo retreat can be exceptionally calming to your sacred space craving soul, time spent simply creating where you’re at can also bring a welcome release. It’s also very important for you to ‘feel’ your emotions in order to work through them. Journaling out your thoughts or spending time floating in water can help stimulate your mind to release any thoughts, ideas, emotions, or feelings that are no longer serving you.
